Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan thanked Turkish people because of their support to Armenia after the earthquake in Armenia in 1988. Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan sent a thanking message to President Abdullah Gul because of the 20th anniversary of Spitak earthquake in Armenia.
Sarksyan said that whole World focused on the tragedy in Armenia just after the Spitak earthquake 20 years ago. Sarksyan said that it was proved that pain was not belonging only one party. Stating that they remember who shared their pain and who were by their side at those times, Sarksyan said that Armenian people and himself was thankful because of the help of Turkey after disaster.
