Student Council of Sakarya University stated that the target of the apology campaign which is initiated by a group of Turkish intellectuals for aapologizing to Armenians about 1915 events, to strengthen the ground of genocide allegations.
In the statement of the Council, it is stated that a group of people who call theirselves as intellectuals had initiated an apology campaign and Council is rejecting the presentation of apology campaign as a personal attitude and using that as a shelter. Student Council said, "We censure the presentation of the apology campaign as a personal attitude. Because it is not possible to claim that such initiative is non damaging and not important. Not mentioning the support that campaign found, even the initiative of such campaign is dangerous for the future of Turkish people.
Sakarya University Student Council said, "They intend to strengthen the ground of genocide allegations with such a campaign. So the effects of thecampaign will be felt strongly in the future. Looking with this perspective the future of the country is put in danger by this apology campaign. Initiator of this campaign abandones the pain of Turkish people who suffered because of Armenian terror and slaughtered by Armenian gangs, the martyr diplomats that are murdered by Armenian terrorist organization ASALA and the people who are just slaughtered in Karabakh by Armenians and they apologize to Armenians.
