President of Armenian desk of Turkish Historical Society (TTK) Professor Doctor Kemal Cicek declared that they were meeting with some Armenian historians about 1915 events in Ankara. Professor Cicek said, "We will arrange a panel with Armenian historians about the events in Adana in March or April of 2009. Armenian historians as Ara Sarafian, Garabet Moumdjian and Khatchig Mouradian will attend to the panel". Professor Cicek said,
"A month ago Armenian historian Ara Sarafian came to Turkish Historical Society. Other than that other historians who have connections with Armenian diaspora also visited our foundation. We talked about 1915 events with them. We gave a decision about one principle fort he talks. We never use the term "genocide".
We will arrange a panel with Armenian historians about the events in Adana in March or April of 2009. Armenian historians as Ara Sarafian, Garabet Moumdjian and Khatchig Mouradian will attend to the panel."
Underscoring that both the Turkish government and Turkish Historical Society was making steps about Armenian issue, Professor Cicek said, "We believe that we made certain progress with these steps. The apology campaing, unfortunately damages these studies."
