Armenian Historian Ara Sarafian commented on the apology campaign that is initiated by a group of Turkish intellectuals for apologizing to Armenians about 1915 events. Armenian Historian said that many of the attenders of campaign do not believe in "genocide" but they share the pain of 1915 events.

Stating that campaign was reflection of development of democracy process, Sarafian said, "It is not important if you agree to what they say or not. The important thing is that many Turks show how they do feel about the issue. They are doing such initiative cause they think that is necessary. Most of the signatories do not believe that there was a "genocide" committed by Turks against Armenians. But it does not mean that they do not feel anything about the events in 1915. This attitude of these people makes a meaningful dialoge probable".
