ARMENIAN PATRIARCHATE COMMENTED ON APOLOGY CAMPAIGN

Turkish Armenians Patriarchate made a written statement about the apology campaign and said, "It would be better to study over the values that two nation have in common." The statement said, "In our opinion it is better to go forward with leaving the mutual pain in the history"

Turkish Armenian Patriarchate made a written statement about the apology campaign which is initiated by a group of Turkish intellectuals for apologizing to Armenians about 1915 events. In the written statement reminding that World War One made many people suffer, Armenian Patriarchate said, "All those pains are over now. Republic of Turkey borned among the ashes of the war. Today Republic of Turkey is neighbour with Republic of Armenia. People of two country share same geography. This geography can't be changed. But this geography can be changed into a sea of love with establishing of bilateral good relations."

In the written statement of Armenian Patriarchate it is said that Armenian citizens of Turkey is wishing neighbourly relations between Turkey and Armenia. Patriachate said, "These days, in which there are contacts and studies for establishing neighbourly relations between two countries, it is better to focus on positive and common values that two nation shares. To share these common values will effect the process of rapproachment positively. In our opinion it is better to go forward with leaving the mutual pain in the history"
