Representation of Armenia by System of a down, which was preparing a song which have lyrics about so called Armenian genocide, is canceled. Armenia will not attend Eurovision 2009 with System of a Down.
Dreams of System of a Down about representing Armenia with a "genocide" song is over. After the reactions from Turkey, Armenia decided to not to attend song contest with anti-Turk and nationalist Armenian heavy metal band "System of a Down". Armenia restarted for searching a song and a singer for representing the country in the song contest.
Armenian descent American heavy metal band had only one precondition for representing Armenia in Eurovision song contest in 2009. They wanted to be free for writing lyrics which would be full of Armenian lies. And that disturbed both Armenian and Turkish preparation committee for Eurovision. Thus, after the reactions from Turkey and decision of European broadcasting union which does not let political songs to attend Eurovision made Armenia to decide to not to attend Eurovision with System of a Down. Yerevan administration did not want to damage the warm relations with Turkey which started with the visit of President Abdullah Gul to Yerevan and changed its decision about the representer of Armenia in Eurovision song contest. The impresario of the heavy metal group confirmed that group is not going to attend Eurovision. Now Armenia started to search a song and a singer for representing country in Eurovision.
