Leader of Armenian administration of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Sahakyan had a sequence of meetings in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. Sahakyan's Yerevan contacts was held secret and those did not reflect to the media.

Armenian "Aykakan Jamanak" journal wrote that the meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and leader of Karabakh seperatists Bako Sahakyan passed stressful. Attitude of leader of so called NKR about keeping the details of the meetings with Armenian leaders secret, makes public opinion to think that there is clash of ideas about the resolution of Karabakh conflict between Armenia and so called NKR.

Late in 2008, so called NKR administration said that they are not supporting the negotiations for resolution of Karabakh conflict since they are not included in the negotiations as a party. Other than that they have stated that they are not responsible about the agreements since the opinion of people of "NKR" was not asked.

Nagorno Karabakh conflict between the two countries of the South Caucasus began in 1988 due to Armenian territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Since 1992, Armenian Armed Forces have occupied 20% of Azerbaijan including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and its seven surrounding districts. In 1994, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement at which time the active hostilities ended. 30 thousand people died till the ceasefire in 1994 and 1 million of Azerbaijani people had to leave their homeland.
