AZERBAIJAN OFFICIALLY REACTS TO AMMO SUPPLY TO ARMENIA FREE OF CHARGE BY RUSSIA

Azerbaijan demands from the Rusian side clarification regarding reports of the recent transfer of weapons to Armena.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan informs that over the last few days the news agencies disseminated information about alleged transfer of weapons worth $800 million from the 102nd military base located in the city of Gumri, Armenia, to the latter. In this connection on 12 January Vasily Istratov, the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan, was invited to the Azerbaijani MFA.

In the course of the meeting with deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov of Azerbaijan the Russian diplomat was made an official inquiry on the occasion of confirmation of information actuality. In his turn, the ambassador promised that the Russian party would clarify the matter.
