TURKISH-ARMENIAN LOVE STORY WILL BAND NATIONS TOGETHER

Think about a documentary about Turks and Armenians which does not include Armenian allegations about 1915, and focuses on similarities between two nations. Project for shooting this documentary is about to start.

A documentary, not including Armenian allegations about 1915 events and aiming to reflect the similarities between Turkish and Armenian people is about to be shoot after long term stuggles. Will be prepared with the sponsorship of Ankara embassy of United States and Turkish-Armenian Business Council and Marketing Union, documentary will be directed by Eray Mert and his Armenian counterpart Gevork Nazaryan. Documentary's scenario is changed a few times because of bureaucratic reasons. Documentary will be started with building a barrage on Aras river and only historical place remained in the scenario after changes is Akdamar Island settled 3 kilometers to Lake Van and which is famous with old Armenian Church.

Documentary inspired from an Armenian legend about Akdamar, tells about a story of love between an Armenian girl named "Tamara" and a muslim boy which lives in the neighbourhood. Final scene of the documentary will be with the visit of Tamara to Akdamar island.
