IGDIR COMMEMORATED "20 YANVAR"

Took its place in the history of Azerbaijan as "Black January", the martyrs who died in Baku massacre in 20 january 1990, are commemorated in Igdir with a ceremony. This ceremony became a tradition in Igdir and is arranged by 10 civilian society organization. Gathering in Zubeyde Hanim Boulevard, members of civilian society organizations and citizens of Igdir protested "I apologize to my Armenian brothers" campaign and enter of Russian tanks to Baku in 20 january 1990.

Reading the press release in behalf of civilian society organizations Goksel Gulbey said that USSR slaugtered 170 innocent people in Azerbaijan in Azadl?q Square in 20 January 1990, and said that those people stand against the invader Russian tanks with their bodies for the freedom of Azerbaijan and they were martyrized.

Gulbey said that they are expecting from Russia to apologize to the people of Azerbaijan about this event. Gulbey added that they react to apology campaign and said that the ones who apologized to Armenians will not be remembered in history in a nice way.

After this declaration one group who had posters of Baskin Oran (One of the initiators of Armenian apology campaign) burned the posters down. 10 different Civilian Society Organization supported the protest demonstration.
