Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said, "We are ready to take Karabakh back".
Azerbaijani President said that they strengthened their army dramatically and pointing the Azerbaijani lands which are under Armenian occupation Aliyev said, "We should be ready to take our lands back whenever we want, we are, but we should strengthen ourself more". In a meeting which is about the performance of the government in 2008, Aliyev said that strength of Azerbaijani army increased in a considerable extent and said that Azerbaijan will seperate 2,3 billion dollars for military budget. Aliyev said, "This is a huge value. But there are tough duties awaiting for us. We should be ready to take our lands back whenever we want, we are, but we should strengthen ourself more".
Touching the "Moscow declaration" that he signed with Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan by the mediation of Russian President Medvedev, Aliyev said that this document is providing incremental solution of Karabakh problem which they were suggesting for years. Aliyev said, "Armenian forces should be extracted from our lands and conflict should be dealed around international guarantees. After that time, there can be negotiations about the statue of Nagorno Karabakh, but with one condition; that statue should depend on territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. This is principal of Azerbaijan and it is unchanging. The suggestions that Azerbaijan is beign proposed for years now is being accepted by Armenia, it shows that incremental solution is better. Thus, i repeat again; this document serves tou national interests of Azerbaijan."
