Famous Weekly Magazine The Economist which is published in England claimed that the reason for canceling of painting and composition contest that was about to be arranged by Turkish National Education Ministry about the drama in Gaza was the threat of Israel about arranging a similar contest in Israel about "Armenian genocide."
Minister of Education Huseyin Celik issued a circular letter because of the attacks of Israel to Gaza and wanted a series of activities to be arranged for support to Palestinians. In the circular letter Minister Celik said, "Painting and composition contests about the drama in Palestine will be arranged among primary and secondary schools and the ones who are placed in the competition will be exhibited in different platforms in the country and abroad for contributing the sensibility of public opinion about the issue."
