TOPIC IS HRANT DINK'S MEMORY BUT AIM IS DIFFERENT

A panel will be arranged in Cambridge for the memory of Hrant Dink who died because of a armed assault in front of the building of Agos Daily in Sisli Istanbul in 19 January 2007 in which he was working as Executive Editor of the journal.

The panel will be organized by foundation "Friends of Hrant Dink" and supporters of so called Armenian genocide are invited for making speech. The staff who are invited for making speech in the panel shows that this organization is another initiative of Armenian diaspora to spread Armenian thesis.

Turkey reporter of The Economist magazine Amberin Zaman and Lecturer in Harvard University Professor Oktay Ozel will attend to the panel which Hrant Dink's wife Rakel Dink will attend as a guest of honour.

Living in Yerevan because of the job of his husband (U.S. diplomat Joseph Pennigton), Amberin Zaman is known with her support to "i apologize" campaign which attracted huge reaction.

The author of the novel "Black dog of the fate" which he wrote with inspiring from the memories of his grandmother and the book "The Burning Tigris", Professor Peter Balakian will attend to the panel as speech maker. One of the supporter of genocide allegations, Professor Peter Balakian from Colgate University, was among the attenders of the program that PBS television would broadcast but then canceled since it would let different opinions to be discussed about Armenian issue.

Another attender of the panel will be the reason of recognition of Armenian allegations by U.S. Jewish foundation ADL(Anti-Defamation League) with his lobby Andrew Tarsy. In the period that Tarsy was New England district officer, he struggled for the recognition of genocide by ADL, and his efforts had caused split in opinion in the foundation.

The moderation of the panel will be made by the Executive Editor of Massachusetts based "The Armenian Weekly" newspaper Khatchig Mouradian. Panel will be held in 1 February 2009 in MIT University Kresge Auditorium.
