Written statement of European Armenian Federation claimed that Turkey has no alternative other than recognizing so called "genocide" and bear its consequences. It wrote, "Turkish civil society should recognize this painful truth. The events that took place in Turkey between the years 1915-1923 were certainly a "genocide" and cannot be defined with some another word. Trying to deny it or using a shuffling language will only lengthen the denial policy of Turkey and would not bring anything other than leaving unsolved problems to the next generations."
