A respond came from diaspora Armenians to the apology campaign which said, "My conscience does not accept the insensitivity showed to and the denial of the Great Calamity that befell the Ottoman Armenians in 1915. I reject this injustice and for my share, I empathize with the feelings and pain of my Armenian brothers. I apologize to them."

Diaspora Armenians decided to initiate a petition which says, "I apologize for the murderers that are committed in behalf of Armenian nation, and i share the the feelings of innocent Turkish and Ottoman people who suffered because of these." Campaign is initiated by Doctor Armen Gakavian from Macguarie University in Sidney, Australia.

One of the Armenian citizen of Republic of Turkey, Dentist Tatyos Bebek believes that both campaigns are important steps for peace and brotherhood. Bebek defines apology campaign that is initiated by Turkish intellectuals as "brave" pointing that there is the threat of being judged with article 301 and said, "It was not an easy initiative to be started. We are thankful to those intellectuals about that. The campaign that will be started by Armenian intellectuals is also very important for us. We support that campaign with all of our hearts. It is not a right thing to approve the things that happened before. We should be on the side of peace. We do not support any action that is against peace." Bebek said, "The campaign that was started in Turkey and the campaign which will be started by diaspora Armenians is a step for the peace and brotherhood. I support this initiative."
