The name of one street in Iznik which was named for honouring journalist Cengiz Candar is changed after his support to Armenian apology campaign. The citizen of Iznik could not bear their countryman supporting Armenian allegations and they had introduced the issue to city council. In the february meeting, City Council decided for the name of the street to be changed. Council decided for the name of the martyr private Mustafa Sivri to be given to the street. Thus, the name of the street which was bearing the name of journalist Cengiz Candar is changed to the name of martyr private soldier Mustafa Sivri. Reason for the change is explained with the support of Cengiz Candar to the Armenian apology campaign which was initiated by a group of Turkish intellectual to apologize to Armenians about 1915 events.
