According to him, problems of Azerbaijan in particular Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement are just a smokescreen and are not discussed.

"Their perspective is known, they are in a frozen state and Turkey has no levers of changing the current state of affairs.

"Let's see what the resolution of the Karabakh conflict gives to Turkey. If Turkey is friends with Russia, no events, related to the Karabakh problem, can have any negative influence on Turkey. Therefore, Turkey, considering its national priorities, is interested in developing relations with Russia", said he.

According to Guluzade, if Turkey is criticized for Islamism in the United States and especially in Western Europe, there is absolutely no such criticism in Russia. Turkey, as is known, is a Muslim state, though its regime is quite democratic and not so religious as in Iran.

"Therefore, in the sense of the national interests of Turkey the relations with Russia are of strategic importance for Ankara, therefore, Gul is in Moscow",

As for the Caucasus Cooperation and Security Platform, initiated by Turkey and supported by Russia, he repeated that this is just a smokescreen.

"Stability in the Caucasus, if this platform promotes this, must meet the requirements of both the West and the United States. Thus Turkey is weakening the criticism addressed to it by Russia and West. There can not be any platform. It is completely virtual", concluded the political scientist.
