He said Madrid proposals are based on three main principles: impossibility of the forced resolution of the Karabakh conflict, right of nations for self-determination and principle of the territorial integrity.

"Armenian side has stated more than once that the main issue of resolution of the Karabakh conflict lies in the recognition of the right of Nagorno Karabakh people for self-determination and independence. Today talks are held around the resolution of the problem and there are no agreements at this stage. It is now early to speak of any agreement", said Balayan.

In the interview to the Voice of America radio station OSCE MG co-chair of US Matthew Bryza said the resolution of the Karabakh problem is nearing completion and it is based on the principle of the territorial integrity. According to Bryza, the agreement must also fix the principle of right for self-determination and impossibility of the forced resolution of the conflict.
