Foreign Minister Ali Babacan replied the questions of reporters in the airport before he leaves for Yemen. Babacan said that they are expecting a more detailed explanation by Israeli officials over the statements of Major General Avi Mizrahi.

Commenting over the reaction of Prime Minister Erdogan against Israeli President Peres about operations in Gaza, Israeli General Mizrahi had said, "They should look at the mirror at first" and accused Turkey with committing genocide against Armenians in 1915. He also accused Turkey with suppression of the Kurds and invasion of Cyprus.

Following the statements of Mizrahi, Turkey called Israeli ambassador to Foreign Ministry and handed a note of asking for explanation. Turkish military evaluated the statements as, "unfortunate and unacceptable".
