One of the leading name of Armenian lobby in the Congress, Deputy of Democratic Party representing California Brad Sherman said that Turkey is important for the Middle East policy of United States and he is not hopeful that Obama will call 1915 events in Ottoman Empire as "genocide" in his speech on 24 April.
Deputy of Democratic Party representing Massachusetts, Jim McGovern made a similar statement and said, "There are still many things that are not clear in the approach of Obama to the issue".
It is known that a new so called Armenian genocide resolution is about to be presented to the U.S. Congress.
Speaking in a meeting that is arranged for the Armenian community in California, Democratic Party California Deputy and the architect of Armenian resolutions in the Congress, Adam Schiff stated that a new "Armenian genocide" resolution will be presented to the U.S. Congress.
An example of the resolution was being intoduced to the members of Congress to collect support. U.S. Congress member Schiff said that it is not certain if Obama will use the term "genocide" in his speech and if the resolution will pass from the Congress.
