TURKISH-RUSSIAN WEDDING: ARMENIAN FUNERAL

E-mail Print PDF
Image Armenian experts find more cooperation between Turkey and Russia dangerous for the sake of Armenia. In that context the probablity of the Nabucco project to include the participation of Russia bothers Armenians and surely they prefer and dream an agreement between Iran and Russia and as a result a pipeline route passing over Armenia, as an alternative project to Nabucco. For the sake of this dream the relations between U.S. and Iran is seperately important, and there is a chance for that with the Obama administration.

According to the report of Armenian press organ Panarmenian.net, Armenian political analyst Ruben Mehrabyan said that Iran has the world's second largest natural gas reserves and a pipeline passing over Iran-Armenia-Georgia axis may export significant amount of gas to the world markets. He claimed that the change of Russian gas monopoly to Russian-Turkish one will not solve the energy problem of Europe moreover it will even deepen it. He also said that Armenians should not forget that Russian-Turkish "wedding" means "funeral" of Armenia.
