According to the report of Russian news agency Ria Novosti, paying an official visit to Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied the reports in the media claiming that Russia transferred military arms of $800 million worth. Lavrov said, "Show me the copy of the document which shows that Russia sold military arms to Armenia. Which tells Russia sold this amount of arms to Armenia. I requested that from my Azerbaijani counterpart. It is not true to claim such thing without documents. We made a detailed search over this issue and we saw that such development did not take place."

Lavrov underscored that the plans of CSTO members over establishing a joint military force is not against Azerbaijan and said, "Nothing to worry about". Lavrov expressed their content over the usage of Russian language as the second language in Azerbaijan as before.

Lately the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia is not that close. Baku is disturbed because of the claims that points Russia transferring military arms of $800 million to Armenia and because of the agreement between Russia and Armenia about establishing joint military force within the frame of CSTO. Russian officials continously refuted the ideas and Azerbaijani deputies said that they will carry the issue to OSCE.
