A few days ago in one of his statements Georgian President Saakashvili said, "The economy of Armenia bursted because of its dependence to Russian markets."
This statement drove Yerevan administration crazy. This statements of Saakashvili coincides with the statements of Armenian opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
In fact, strategical partner of Armenia, Russia does not believe in the future of Armenian economy too. Right, Moscow released $500 million credit for Armenia but they do not plan to work out the factories in Armenia. Former President of Russia, Vladimir Putin pledged his former Armenian counterpart Robert Kocharian to provide $2 billion support for the construction of an oil rafinery on Mehri (Armenian city close to Iranian border). Moscow did not hold its promise.
The statement from Moscow over this project dissappointed Yerevan; "The factory that was planned to be build on Mehri is not economically beneficial."
That is not suprising. How can Russia save Armenia when it is dealing with economical recession and while people loose their jobs as factories are being closed in Russia?
Although, the state that can save Armenia as it did in the begining of 1990's is well known
