"YEREVAN GARDEN" IN PARIS

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, city mayor of Paris Bertarnd Delanoe and artist Charles Aznavour attended to the opening ceremony of the "Yerevan Garden". The France, which recognizes 1915 events as genocide, decided to name the place as "Yerevan Garden" after a ballot in Paris municipality council in October of 2008.

Attending to the opening ceremony of "Yerevan Garden" which settles just behind the monument of so called Armenian genocide, city mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoe called for attention to the importance of naming 1915 events as "genocide", and said, "These should not be forgotten. We are loyal to this historical truth. We do not want to write this page in another way".

Being in Paris for the opening ceremony of the "Yerevan Garden", Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian pointed the monument of composer Komitas who fled to Paris because of 1915 incidents and said, "Today the soul of Komitas meets with the soil that he was born". He stated that many toponym in France is Armenian due to Armenian diaspora in France.
