Sabah daily newspaper said that Turkey and Armenia is close to an agreement after the secret meetings in Bern, Switzerland which started on September of 2007. According to Sabah, parties will announce the aggrement between the states after 24 April which is recognized by Armenians as the commemorative day for so called Armenian genocide. The decision of date is made to prevent the formation of a U.S. pressure over negotiations and to prevent Armenian diaspora in U.S. to take action just before or after 24 April.

* Establishment of diplomatic relations between Yerevan and Ankara, opening of embassies in both countries.

* Establishment of a commission for normalization of relations, discussion of genocide allegations by a historians commission in this aspect, discussion of Armenian declaration of independence.

* Discussion of Kars agreement that is not recognized by Armenia, recognition of the treaty by Armenia.

* Opening of border and establishment of trade.

Sabah newspaper claimed that some of this steps will be taken synchronously and some of them will be taken step by step. One of the dimension of the agreement between Yerevan and Ankara is the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Karabakh dispute. Sabah wrote that Turkey accelerated efforts for the resolution of the conflict and President Abdullah Gul discussed the issue with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
