
Armenian allegations been problem between US and Turkey many times.
Some of those resolutions were discussed in Congress but none passed.
Armenian allegations was brought to the agenda of US first time in the presidency of Gerald Rudolph Ford. Second resolution was prepared in the period of Ronald Reagan but was nothing more than discussions.
The year 1996 was a problematic year for Turkey-US relations. US House of Representatives drove a precaution for release of $22 million aid; recognition of Armenian allegations by Turkey. Turkey did not retreat.
After the years 1975, 1984 and 1996 Armenian allegations was brought to the agenda of U.S. once again on 2000. Resolution could not be passed considering interests of U.S. in the region where Turkey has great influence.
In year 2007 Armenian lobby gathered the support of both Democrats and Republicans in the Congress. Resolution was accepted by External Relations Committy of U.S. House of Representatives. The introducement of the resolution to the Congress by Speaker of U.S. House Nancy Pelocy was thought as certain but White House warned Congress over the issue considering its effect to the relations of US with Turkey. Support to resolution suddenly dissolved and voting did not take place.
Armenian diaspora could never reach its objectives since 34 years even they could bring the issue to the agenda of U.S.
