Expressing her opinion over the resolution that recongizes 1915 events as genocide, Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives and representative of California Nancy Pelosi claimed that so called Armenian genocide is truth.
Answering questions of Reuters News agency, Pelosi said, "The visit of Obama to the region does not change the truth of 'Armenian genocide'. There are members of Congress who will continously bring this issue to agenda, such as us."
This attitude of Pelosi which bases upon political concerns, since California is one of the state which has a huge Armenian population, contradicts with the foreign policy of United States. Pelosi did not issued the Armenian resolution last year to the Congress due to pressure from Bush administration, even she was supporting it. She is again on the stage with her inapropriate statements just before Turkey visit of President Obama.
On the other hand, foreign policy advisor of Prime Ministry Ahmet Davutoglu held contacts with U.S. National Security Advisor Jim Jones in White House. After the meeting Davutoglu said, "Nothing could put a shade over the success of the visit of President Obama to Turkey."
