Foreign Minister Ali Babacan met with members of European Union Joint Commission and stated that whole world will be watching the elections that will be held in Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan this year.
Babacan said that continuation of current peace in Middle East, protection of stability in Kosovo and reaching to a result in the negotiations in Cyprus are very important. He also stressed the role of United Nations in the negotiations of Cyprus.
Stating that the process that was initiated for normalization of relations with Armenia is going well, Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said that there might be important developments in relations with Armenia in 2009.
