Bahceli said, "During replying a question related to 1915 events, President Obama clearly said he considers 1915 events as a 'genocide'. He said that his position during the presidential election campaign has not changed. Leaving question marks about how he will define this issue in his speech on 24 April, Obama said that negotiations of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government with Armenia is encouraging, and positive results reached by this negotiations will contribute overcoming this problem."

Stating that the reason of the problems between Armenia and Turkey are claims and attitude of Armenia, Bahceli said, "As it is known, Armenia does not recognize territorial integrity of Turkey. Questionizing territorial integrity of Turkey, claiming Eastern Anatolia as 'West Armenia' and considers Mounth Agri as its national symbol. Armenia, which is the greatest reason against peace and stabilization in the region, still keeps 20 percent of our brother country Azerbaijan's lands."

"Other than that, there is a shameless international campaign for convicting Turkish nation and history with the most abject guilt against humanity, genocide. Attitude of U.S. President, ignoring these truths and trying to impeach such negative meanings to events in Turkish history and explaining this as facing historical truth, is such a discourtesy that we cannot tolerate", Devlet Bahceli said.
