Boycott by Azerbaijani President to Alliance of Civilizations meeting in Istanbul is evaluated as reaction of Azerbaijan to reports over opening of state border to Armenia. President Abdullah Gul called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to prevent misunderstandings over this issue and to inform him over recent developments. When he touched developments in Caucasus during his meeting with Obama in Chankaya Palace, President Gul said, "Azerbaijan is an important country in Caucasus, we should not hurt Azerbaijan". Also during the press meeting with Obama he said that the problems between Azerbaijan and Armenia should be solved together. He said that many problems will be solved if this issue could be resolved.
