Image, Yasar Yakis stated that the state border with Armenia will not be opened till resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem. He said, "Opening of border is part pf a big package. That package also contains resolution of Karabakh problem."

To a question over opening of borders with Armenia, Yakis said, "We do not have any problems with Armenian people. There is a problem that diaspora Armenians create. Mr. Obama needed to bring the problem that is created by Armenian diaspora to the agenda in the Great National Assembly of Turkey. Turkish-Armenian talks have been countiuing. These talks also included opening of borders. But the topic narrowed to the opening of borders now. Like there is nothing else won't be done. The package includes resolution of Karabakh problem too." Yakis stated that resolution of Karabakh problem and opening of borders are clauses of the big package and they are levels of rapprochement.

To a question asking the reaction of Azerbaijani people over this issue, Yakis said, "Due to sensible approach of our Azerbaijani friends some third circles are interested in making Azerbaijani friends doubt about us, trying to create an impression like we will open borders with Armenia before resolution to Nagorno-Karabakh problem. This impression is not correct. I mean the opening of border is the part of a big package. That package also include resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem."
