E-mail Print PDF
Image Foreign Minister Ali Babacan is expected to go to Yerevan on Thursday for attending Black See Economic Cooperation (BSEC) meeting. Babacan is not expected to give a date for opening of border but some diplomatic circles consider that date for opening of borders is soon.

Another meeting plan between Turkish and Armenian officials is Turkey-Armenia national game which will be played on October 14. Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan will watch the game in Turkey with President Abdullah Gul. Yerevan expects for opening of borders before this match.

One of the political party of coalition government of Armenia, Dashnak Party presses Armenian President Sarksyan over this issue. Making a statement after statements of Prime Minister Erdogan telling opening of borders not possible unless Karabakh dispute resolved, Dashnak Party said that statements of Erdogan may put Turkish-Armenian dialogue into a dead end. Dashnak Party said that if Ankara does not change attitude Sarksyan should not go to Turkey to watch Turkey-Armenia game.

On this level negotiations are continuing. Ankara expects Yerevan to agree on a road map for withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from Nagorno Karabakh.
