Armenian-Turkish ties have been severed since 1993.

Turkey puts forward conditions, including Armenia's refusing from policy of internationally recognizing an alleged "genocide" and settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to establish bilateral relations.

Yerevan, in turn, states its readiness to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey without preliminary conditions

"Turkey expects comprehensive resolution in relations with Armenia. We want to fully normalize them," the Turkish foreign minister told journalists before flying to Yerevan to participate in the BSEC FM meeting. The Turkish televisions quoted Babacan.

Babacan said normalization of the Ankara-Yerevan relations must take place simultaneously with the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
