Mayor of California, U.S. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared April 19-26 as week of commemoration for so called "Armenian genocide".
Schwarzenegger said, "This week we are recognizing and commemorating "Armenian genocide" with all of our Armenian friends and neighbours." Issuing such declarations every year, California Mayor claimed that 1.5 million Armenian were massacred and said, "We do not like to remember such pains but we should do that for learning a lesson from history and for showing effort to stop such events take place again".
