It is matter of discussion since days after the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to Turkey, wheter the border of Turkey to Armenia will be opened. The general view is, "It should be opened if progress could be achived in Karabakh problem". While many people have the concern, "Because of the threat of "genocide" recognition by United States, Turkey will open borders, as a result Turkey will not yield "hostile Armenia" and will lose fraternal country Azerbaijan".

But which of these is true?

Before anything, the decision of closing the state border with Armenia, was made in 1992-94 after Armenia invaded lands that 4 times bigger than Karabakh region, including 6 region of Azerbaijan.

"Claims of genocide" or "recognition of territorial integrity of Turkey" were not among the reasons for closing the border.

17 thousand people died during massacres.

800 thousand Azerbaijani became refugees.

Karabakh region, which does not have border with Armenia, merged with Armenia by invasion.

Parties declared ceasefire in 1994 but about 3 thousand Azerbaijani died because of "enemy fire" after that date.

Occupation is going on since 13 years, while 800,000 Azerbaijani, some of them in railway carriages, living as refugees.

Shortly, all the reasons that caused us to close the border stays with all their magnificence.

Secondly, laying an "embargo" is not something specific for Turkey.

U.S. laid embargo more than 50 countries till now.

Embargo to Cuba lasted 40 years.

Embargo to our neighbour Iraq lasted more than 10 years. Even entry of food was limited. At least 500,000 women, old people and children died because the lack of food or medicine.

Now U.S. wants to lay an embargo to Sudan.

But no embargo is on the agenda for Armenia.

Borders of Georgia and Iran is open.

Even Turkish air space is open to Armenia.

Closed borders of Turkey and Azerbaijan only increases the expences.

So, what is the pressure for opening of Turkish border to Armenia?

Why nobody calls "Stop this unfair occupation. There is UN decision. Withdraw from Azerbaijani lands"?

Armenians benefit from the influence of Armenian diaspora in the World.

They advertise theirselves as they are people suffered of "genocide" and they veil ongoing occupation with that.

They say, "You do not have right to close borders, not having diplomatic relations with Armenians who killed your Azerbaijani brothers and who made them leave their homes."

In this point, Turkey should go on with new initiatives which will contribute resolution of crisis.
