Director of Ataturk University Turkish-Armenian Relations Research Center, Associate Professor Erol Kurkcuoglu hold a press meeting about 1915 events and Armenian allegations.
Stating that the science of history should depend on documents and that Armenian Dashnak, Hinchak and Ramagvar gangs cooperated with Russian forces in 1915-18 and massacred people in Eastern Anatolia, Professor Kurkcuoglu said that 520 thousand Turks were killed in that period.
Associate Professor Kurkcuoglu reminded the words of General Harbord after he came to Erzurum in 25 September 1919 and saw the massacres committed by Armenian gangs, "How could followers of Jesus did such atrocity" and said, "Also today, the followers of Jesus, Dashnak gangs massacred 20 thousand Azerbaijani Turk in Karabakh where is a home to Turks since 1000 years".
Kurkcuoglu stated that there are red lines in Turkish-Armenian relations and Armenia should leave claims of genocide for establishment of political and economic relations between two country.
Reminding the statements of Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan about expectation of opening of Turkish border to Armenia, Kurkcuoglu said, "Sarksyan said that they will not accept any precondition. The attitude of Armenian President telling, "There is not any Armenian in the world who doubts about the truth of "genocide" but Turks insist to deny it", is not friendly. Statements of Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian telling that they will never stop the efforts for recognition of so called Armenian genocide in international area, shows how hostile policy Armenia has. I call Sarksyan to read their own history. Armenia fools the world and brings the date 24 April to the agenda of the world. We advice Mr. Sarksyan and Mr. Nalbandian to study their own history better. Because the law that decides deportation of Armenians was not passed on 24 April 1915.
