VICE PREMIER: BORDERS WITH ARMENIA WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THE SOLUTION OF KARABAKH CONFLICT

Image, said Turkish vice premier Cemil Cicek, Interfax-Azerbaijan reported with reference to Turkish mass medias.

"I would like to state in open about our concerns with the false and speculative information, as if we are ready to ignore the national interests of Azerbaijan for normalization of relations with Armenia", said Cicek.

"Turkey would never damage the Azerbaijani interests by establishing ties with Armenia or any other country", added he.

The vice premier noted that Turkey was always for peace and stability in the region.

"This is a basic line of our external policy. We, as a leadership of Turkey, hold a policy based on the resolution of existing problems at the negotiation table regarding our neighbors", said he.

Chichek noted that the Turkish government does not want Azerbaijan to trust the unchecked

The vice premier said that any talks about negotiations between the conflicting countries can be declared only if results are achieved.

"Otherwise, our expectations, if there are so, can be terminated. During private talks Turkey did not pursue the goal to neglect Azerbaijani interests. It is necessary to put an end to different opinions on this issue, as we maintain friendly relations with Azerbaijan unlike other countries", noted he.

Cicek also noted that "Turkey's policy on the Karabakh conflict is clear and it remains changeless".

He voiced hope for the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh problem in the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

"We observe the statements that the so-called normalization of relations with Armenia is targeting against Azerbaijan. I would like to say that it is impossible to attain peace, stability and good neighbor relations in the region without the settlement of the Karabakh conflict", noted he.

"Though these statements are voiced by the senior officials, the propaganda of possible worsening of our relations with Azerbaijani brothers, rhetoric that reminds of the times of the Cold war. I hope that everyone would think about his words once again after our statements", said Cicek.
