DASHNAK PARTY: NO NORMALIZATION UNLESS TURKEY RECOGNIZES "GENOCIDE"

E-mail Print PDF
Image over a roadmap of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and it treated ruling party with breaking away of coalition government.

Dashnak Party said that they did not find joint announcement made by Turkey and Armenia in the mediation of Switzerland favourable and it stated that they will reconsider their participation in the coalition government.

Making a statement over announcement of an agreement between Turkey and Armenia, Dashnak Party claimed that normalization of relations between two countries could be possible only if Turkey recognizes so called Armenian genocide and said, "normalization of relations with Turkey in a way which will contradict with the interests of country and next generations is not acceptable." The statement made by Dashnak Party said that the choice of date for the announcement is also inacceptable since it is just before April 24.

Breaking away of Dashnak Party that has 16 seats in Armenian Parliament from coalition government is not very much effective on the structure of the government in the Parliament of Armenia with 131 seats.
