The OSCE Minsk Group has declared support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, calling on its government to a more constructive dialogue with Armenia, as stated in the report of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon "The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan", which was sent for consideration at the UN General Assembly, Today.az reported quoting Panarmenian.

The report consists of the letters of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and several other UN member states with proposals for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

In March 2008 the UN General Assembly in resolution 62/243 called upon Member States and international and regional organizations to make an effective contribution to the process of resolving the conflict. It requested the Secretary-General to present a comprehensive report on the implementation of this resolution at the 63rd session.

The report of the UN secretary general notes that according to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs the General Assembly resolution 62/243 is selectively propagating only some of the earlier suggested principles of conflict resolution.

"This lack of balance has forced our country to vote against this resolution, to our great regret. Nevertheless, during the explanation of motives and again today, we reaffirm our support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan", states the letter of the OSCE Minsk Group to the UN.

The United States, Russia and France declared that "the most effective way, with which Azerbaijan can achieve its territorial integrity, is a continuation of the increasingly constructive dialogue with Armenia" in order to complete the basic principles that the co-chairs suggested the two sides in Madrid, according the press service of the UN.
