Armenian Parliament opened its doors to Turkish journalists for the first time.

As a part of "Turkey-Armenia Journalists dialogue Project" that is arranged by Hrant Dink Foundation and Heinrich Böll Foundation, 10 journalists from Turkey visited Armenian Parliament. Known with the bloody raid in 1999, in which 8 people died, Armenian Parliament opened its doors to Turkish journalists for the first time since Armenia announced its independence.

Armenian Parliament is built in 1947 and currently hosts 131 Armenian Parliamentarian and 5 political parties. Turkish journalists are welcomed by Press Information Secretary Marov Asatyan.

Asatyan said that the Parliament of Armenia hosts to Turkish journalists for the first time in the period of 20 years in which he has been working. He said, "I hope your visit contributes to the relations of Turkey and Armenia."

Coming across with Turkish journalists at the corridor, Vice President of the Assembly Samvel Nikoyan said, "It is very nice that you came here. I wish the relations between Turkish and Armenian people could be between Turkish and Armenian Parliaments too".
