Evaluating the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskenderyan said that they do not foresee opening of Turkey-Armenia border in short time.

Speaking at the opening of the Turkey-Armenia Relations workshop that is arranged by Politic, Economic and Social Researches Foundation (SETA) in Conrad Hotel, Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskenderyan said that the rapprochement between Turkish and Armenian people could take much time if it should compared to the time required for political rapprochement. He said that rapprochement between Turkish and Armenian nations may take decades. Stating that they do not have hope for opening of Turkish-Armenian state border in short time, Armenian expert said, "But opening of borders will contribute to solution of some problems, since it will increase passage and contacts".

Richard Giragosian, director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies, said that approachment of Turkey to the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be decisive.

One of the members of SETA, Professor Doctor Bulent Aras said that it is understood that the status quo in the South Caucasus will not continue.
