
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated that the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenian has been continuing since the roadmap agreement that is signed on April 22. He said, “Nothing changed about continuation of the negotiations. When you revitalize a frozen conflict, you should be patient for progress. We are patiently going on doing all that we can towards resolution of this problem.”
Stating that the relations between Turkey and Armenia is not all about South Caucasus, Davutoglu said that the relations between two countries affects the improvements in U.S. Congress, consecuently
Davutoglu said, “Our policy is clear. We want peace and prosperity in South Caucasus. We want to normalize our relations with Armenia as a part of our policy of „zero problem with neighbours.“ But to achieve a comprehensive and stable peace in South Caucasus, dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia is needed to be solved. Each party should show effort for resolution of conflict in peaceful ways. The comprehensive and stable peace could be achived only by the way of peaceful methods.”
Davutoglu stated that Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers will meet today and afterwards in Italy in July. He said, “We want normalization process to create a base for consistent peace in the region. We continue our efforts for consistent peace in the region in cooperation with U.S., Russia, France, United Nations Security Council member countries and OSCE Minsk Group
Replying a question whether the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia is dependent to the resolution of Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict, Davutoglu said, “Our vision is to establish consistent and comprehensive normalization. These processes affect each other in positive means. They are not hamperer in negative means.”
Replying a question reminding in case the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia fails, there is probability for the resolution that recognizes so called Armenian genocide to be passed from U. S. Congress increases, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, “I prefer to think about what we can do to solve this issue instead thinking over the probabilities that may happen.
