After the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan in St. Petersburg on June 4, Foreign Ministers of the two countries held a briefing, APA reported.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said the presidents“meeting was constructive.

“Though no serious improvement has been made, the parties are moving forward and have decided to continue the negotiations. The Presidents commissioned the Foreign Ministers to make related preparations together with the co-chairs and continue the negotiations to coordinate the positions,” he said.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said the recent meeting differed from the previous ones.

“There is some move, but I agree that it is impossible to say that the meeting was a serious step forward. But there is more mutual understanding, common agreement to move forward and solve the problem,” he said.

Elmar Mammadyarov said there are worked-out principles that began as Prague process and appeared in the form of Madrid proposals.

“There is a mutual understanding on a part of these principles, there are contours of the agreement on some of the principles discussed on the level of the presidents,” he said.
