ARMENIA: THE SOURCE OF TROUBLE IN CAUCASUS

Armenia has been the source of trouble in Caucasus since Berlin Conference 1878. Christian Western countries and Russia have used Armenia for their imperialist interests. And today Armenia is being used against Turkey.

Armenia is a little country with 29,000 meter square area. And it is economically poor. Half of the men population migrated to foreign countries including Turkey. Population of country is 3,100,000 officially but real number is less than 2,5 million while half of them live in capital Yerevan. Yerevan is sister of Turkish city Van. Before invasion of Yerevan by Russian forces, 80 percent of Yerevan population consisted of Turks.

The real genocide was committed by Russian and Armenians against Turkish population in those provinces. They massacred and exciled Turkish people in the region and settled Armenians. Today you cannot find Turkish people in Yerevan but there is Armenian minority in Azerbaijan.

Armenia is the occupier of Azerbaijani land Nagorno Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. This occupation was held by the support of Russian army. There are four decisions of United Nations for Armenia to end occupation.

Armenia“s national strength is so low. They do not have natural sources like petroleum or natural gas. Then what is the source of resistance of Armenia against Turkey and Azerbaijan? Armenian diaspora especially in U.S. and France are very well organized and they have influence over these countries.

State of Armenia does not recognize Kars Agreement, Turkish-Armenian border and Treaty of Lausanne. Armenia also claims 27 Turkish cities while all of those cities were always mostly populated by Turkish people. Ottoman, Russian and English archives proves that. Other than that, Armenian historians K.s. Papazyan and L. Nalbantyan confirms that Armenians were not the major population on the provinces that Armenians claim.

Foreign policy principle of Turkey requires establishment of friendly relations with all neighbouring countries. But I do not believe that Armenia will withdraw from the lands of Azerbaijan or will give up allegations of genocide. The source of genocide is racism. Turkish people never been racist. They never followed a racist policy in the period of Ottomans too. Other than that, racism is forbidden in the religion of Islam.
