EASTERN ANATOLIANS WANT KARABAKH PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED FIRST

E-mail Print PDF
After people of Erzurum, Kars, Malatya and Agri, people of Igdir stated that they want Nagorno Karabakh problem to be solved first before normalization of relations with Armenia and opening of borders. They stated that they rely on government’s Caucasus policy.

Head of the Foundation for Struggle Against Groundless Armenian Claims (ASIMDER) Goksel Gulbey said, "We are against opening of borders with Armenia unless Armenia withdraws Azerbaijani lands, gives up with groundless genocide allegations and recognizes Turkish borders. Not very much time passed since the last massacre they committed in 1992. There are problems about that issue. If Nagorno-Karabakh problem could be solved, than we may approach the issue moderately. We are not a nation that is filled of anger, but Armenian diaspora should give an end to its studies for recognition of so called Armenian genocide. Mountain Agri is shown as Armenian land in the constitutional law of Armenia. These should change and they should come for negotiating after those."

A citizen, Halit Ozturk said, "I am against opening of Armenia border before resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem as a citizen of Igdir. Other than that, Khojaly massacre is one of the biggest massacre in the history. I call Europe to devote close attention to this issue".

Another citizen, Adil Adar, 81, said "I am not consent with opening of Armenia border. Turkish-Armenian relations may be healed if Armenians withdraw from Nagorno Karabakh. Otherwise friendship or trade is not possible".

Journalist Aydin Deniz said, "Our nation is inclined for peace. Armenians never had a state. And now their status is ‘occupier’. They committed massacres and they claim for a genocide that is allegedly committed by us. They do not even recognize our borders. If the issues that i mention could be resolved than borders should be opened and any kind of relation should be established."
