Reports about adoption of an Armenian child by Hollywood star Angelina Jolie is not found favourable among Armenian diaspora in United States. Representatives of Armenian community in New York protested the decision of Angelina Jolie and stated, “An Armenian should be educated and grow up in Armenia.”
Representatives of Armenian community stated that an Armenian child would forget his own culture and language if he/she grows up in United States. While Armenian diaspora doesn’t find Jolie’s idea favourable, Hollywood star thinks that an Armenian kid would easily accomodate with African, Kampuchean and Vietnamese children. Jolie’s husband Brad Pitt is towards adopting a kid from India.
