JAPANESE FM VOICES SUPPORT FOR AZERBAIJAN ABOUT KARABAKH PROBLEM

Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone said that they support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh problem in peaceful ways.

Nakasone held a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov who is in Japan for an official visit. Nakasone said, “Karabakh problem should be solved in the mediation of OSCE Minsk Group mediation and respecting to territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and within the frames of international laws.” He added that Caucasus has the chance of being a region of peace for all countries of the world.

Nakasone stated that they do believe that mediator countries can be in constructive cooperation for resolution of problems in Caucasus that are settled in the region which connects Europe and Asia to each other. He said that their support for resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem will continue.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stated that bilateral relations between two countries are satisfactory. He said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its cooperation with Japan in the frame of “Partnership for Peace” program of NATO.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Mammadyarov is expected to leave Japan in June 21.
