“Dmitriy Medvedev had very fruitful visit to Azerbaijan. Both presidents showed maximum readiness to work together within the national interests of their countries. The interests of both countries coincided in many issues and it was possible to coordinate the number of positions,” Director of the Institute of CIS Countries, political analyst Vladimir Jarikhin told APA Moscow bureau exclusively. He analyzed the results of the Russian President“s visit to Azerbaijan and mentioned the prospects of the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. „Russia must keep its neutrality and optimism as a mediator country in the settlement process and Russia achieved it. We are happy to see the Azerbaijani President“s optimism for prospects of the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.”

Valdimir Jarikhin said the Nagorno Karagbakh conflict caused less disputes between the United States and Russia than other conflicts in CIS countries. “Russia and the United States have not similar, but close positions on this conflict. Both parts make quite enough efforts for its settlement and they are making join efforts as well. I don't see the Nagorno Karabakh conflict as a subject of dispute between Barack Obama and Dmitriy Medvedev.“
