DAVUTOGLU, LAVROV TO DISCUSS TURKEY-ARMENIA RELATIONS

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will hold an official visit to Moscow, Russia. Agenda of the visit will be the situation in Caucasus and especially the relations of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. In the meeting, Foreign Minister Davutoglu and his Russian counterpart will evaluate the Turkey visit of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in detail. Russia waits for Turkey’s final decision about constuction of the nuclear power plant for making the visit of Putin certain. Bidding for the project of construction of nuclear power plant to Turkey was held last September and Russian public company had participated. Russia waits for final decision to be made and agreements to be finalized for the visit of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to be efficient. Energy will be also one of the most important topics in the agenda of Davutoglu’s visit to Moscow. Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz was in Moscow on Wednesday to hold talks. Two countries negotiating for enlonging the natural gas agreement between countries which will expire in 2012. Issue of Nagorno-Karabakh and relations between Turkey and Armenia are included in the agenda of the Foreign Minister Davutoglu’s meeting with Sergey Lavrov. Turkey numerously stressed that opening of the state border between Turkey and Armenia depends resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The problems in the process of normalization of the relations between Turkey and Armenia will also be discussed in the Davutoglu-Lavrov meeting.
