“Azerbaijani public representatives who visited Karabakh tripped first of all their motherland and later met with Armenian representatives for talks.”

Azerbaijani political expert Fikrat Sadigov told Day.az while commenting on visit by Azerbaijani and Armenian public figures to Khankandi, Yerevan and Baku in a bid to establish a dialogue.

“I think it is not right to view this visit in isolation with the ongoing events. We all have witnessed important developments in recent years in the region. Several heads of states have tripped to Azerbaijan over last days and all of them accepted geopolitical importance of Azerbaijan,” he said.

“But it is important to take into consideration the fact that we are likely to stand in anticipation of the signing of an important political agreement on return several occupied regions of Azerbaijan and continuation of the negotiations related to the status of Nagorno Karabakh,” he said..

“Against this background, visit by our public representatives to Karabakh, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan, should not cause any objection. So, it is wrong to give a different meaning to the visit,” he said.
